In 1977, a successful partnership between Austrian and Czech companies led to the construction of the first rubber dam. The Austrian partners were Mr. Paul Oberleitner senior and the Company Kössler GmbH, with director Mr. Werner Panhauser, while the Czech partners were the Company Rubena for rubber membrane and the Company Aquatis for engineering.

In 1989, Hydro Construct GmbH was established as a company in Austria with Mr. Paul Oberleitner senior and the Company Kössler GmbH as its first owners. In 1993, Hydro Construct GmbH welcomed the Czech partners Rubena and Aquatis as co-owners, further strengthening their expertise in rubber dam construction and engineering.

In 1994, Hydro Construct experienced a change in leadership as Mr. Rudolf Fritsch took over the position of CEO from Mr. Paul Oberleitner senior. In the years following, ownership of the company also underwent several changes. Mr. Werner Panhauser acquired the shares from Kössler GmbH, and Paul Oberleitner junior followed in his father's footsteps. As of now, Hydro Construct is co-owned by Mr. Rudolf Fritsch (CEO), Mr. Werner Panhauser, Mr. Paul Oberleitner,  as Directors. Rubena and Aquatis companies continue thier successful partnership.
